QUSIC – Terez

Musician Name: Terez
Genre: Pop
Content Rating: PG – Parental guidance is suggested for designated age range (7-13 yrs); some material may not be suitable for all children due to coarse language.

Hosted at & Sponsored by: Friends of Dorothy Lounge in Downtown Kelowna.
Media Sponsor: K96.3 Kelowna’s Classic Rock and New Country 100.7 .
Financially Supported by: Creative BC, FACTOR and Canada’s private radio broadcasters.
Episode Sponsor: Susan Dolan Real Estate

Terez (she/her/hers) may be making her original debut releases as a solo artist, but this young pop singer is anything but new to the music scene. Already with a fan base of over 100K followers, collaborating with influencers like Nicole Arbour, and having performed across North America, sharing stages with heavy hitters such as Keith Urban, Terez is making a mark on her own accord with the release of original music.

With her passion originating from songwriting, Terez uses her music as a platform to discuss topics such as self-love, mental health, and acceptance. Everyone has secrets and unflattering truths; Terez aims to showcase her truth to make fans feel more accepting of their own. Her deeply vulnerable, and personal lyrics aim to make listeners feel related to and understood, while her pop melodies and dynamic vocals make you want to dance. Terez has more interest in one’s humanity rather than their gender, and looks forward to telling her musical story on QUSIC.

QUSIC episodes are generally only available to current Unicorns.LIVE subscribers; however, thanks to the support of Susan Dolan Real Estate, this livestream will be available to everyone! NOTE: The episode will be available for viewing after August 19, 2020 to Unicorns.LIVE subscribers only.

Get Ready To MX. It Up With Room to Roam!

Summer hasn’t exactly gotten off to the brilliant start we are used to here in the sunny Okanagan. However, it is summer and there are few things better during this time of year than getting together with friends in the evening to mix, mingle, and catch up. Rebellious Unicorns Production Company Inc. is pleased to announce that we’re bringing back the original MX. on Thursday, July 23, 2020! Well, maybe not exactly “The MX. OG”…read on!

We’re thrilled to invite you to join us at Dunnenzie’s Pizza Co. in the Lower Mission (4638 Lakeshore Rd) from 5:30-7:30 pm. We’ll be keeping it social and keeping it safe; physical distancing measures will be in place ‘MXing’ it up with creative ways for everyone to get a chance to meet and make new connections.

Rather than our usual “food station” set-up, Dunnenzie’s (our gracious Host Partner who is providing the snacks and a welcome beverage for all in attendance) will offer a variety of appy plates upon arrival; register, grab your food and a drink, and get mingling!

Not familiar with The MX.? The MX. was created as an opportunity for the LGBT2Q+ community to network, gather, and socialize. This is also an opportunity to meet like minded people away from those lovely apps. Allies are encouraged to join; the more, the merrier!

In addition to meeting super fab people, the MX. also fundraises for the Etcetera Youth Group and 100% of the entrance fee will be donated to them. Space is available on a first come first serve basis. Please register in advance so we can let Dunnenzie’s know how much food should be prepared for our guests. Suggested donation for admission is $10 (or $5 for students (19+) with valid student ID).

Dunnenzie’s will also be assisting us in our on-going fundraising efforts for Etcetera by creating a “Mystery Prize Table”. For $20 per ticket, you’ll have the chance to win…something fabulous! Or, something else. Dunnenzie’s generous suppliers and partner merchants will be providing the prizes–what the prizes may be is for us to know and for you to find out!

If you’re planning on joining us, we hope you’ll reach out to some of your friends and work colleagues and consider safe carpooling. Parking at this location can be challenging, and keep in mind that they will be open to the public as well.

The MX. is presented by TD Bank, and proudly supported by Okanagan Young Professionals Collective, Sarah Sucloy Real Estate, Friends of Dorothy and EzTix.

We look forward to seeing you for our garden party at The MX. on Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 5:30-7:30pm at Dunnenzie’s in the Lower Mission. Questions? Please reach out to Kris Johnson, Manager of Logistics & Partnerships for Rebellious Unicorns Production Company Inc. by email kris@rebelliousunicorns.com

The MX. is held on the unceded, traditional territory of the syilx (Okanagan) people.

QUSIC Live Show – Matthew Presidente feat. Pedwell

Wednesday Night’s QUSIC live-streamed show sold out last week but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on this talent! QUSIC is thrilled to have Matthew Presidente Music feat. Pedwell perform a second show on Tuesday night!

Tickets are $15 at the door, first-come, first-serve at Friends of Dorothy’s. There will be NO live stream of this show, so you gotta be there to enjoy it 🎶.

About the Artist
Rock/pop pianist/singer/songwriter Matthew Presidente (he/him/his) has been a part of the music scene in Vancouver for nearly 20 years. Independently recording and releasing 6 full length albums, he has been involved in a wide range of musical collaborations and performances. A local Metro Vancouver resident, Matthew was raised in Tsawwassen, where he began playing piano at 10 years old. Since then he has gone on to master guitar and percussion, but considers himself a piano player by trade. Referred to as “one of — if not — the best singer/songwriters our LGBT scene has” by Xtra Magazine (Vancouver), Matty has been on the music scene for nearly 20 years, and has performed in rosters among headliners such as Ace of Base and Dragonette.

Bradley Pedwell (he/him/his) is a singer/songwriter from Vancouver BC that mixes rock, folk, and hip-hop to create a captivating blend of acoustic rock. Pedwell’s heavy 90s influence combined with his passionate rock vocal often results in comparison to artists like Everlast and Matchbox 20 – whilst Pedwell agrees, he insists his sound is “Definitively-Vancouver”.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Bradley has been performing for 17 years as a singer/songwriter and has released 9 albums independently. In the last year, Pedwell has performed over 160 dates and released 1 EP per month written/recorded/produced entirely himself.
