Founded in Vancouver in 2009 and currently with five health centres throughout the Lower Mainland, Health Initiative for Men (HIM) is a non-profit society that aims to strengthen the health and well-being of gay, bi, trans, and queer self-identified men, and Two-Spirit and non-binary people (GBT2Q). HIM offers the full spectrum of GBT2Q sexual health testing, as well as professional counselling, sexual health education, and an engaging mix of social and volunteer opportunities.
Since 2019 HIM has been working with local partners in Kelowna and the Interior region to improve the accessibility and uptake of health services for GBT2Q. In partnership with public health, researchers, policymakers, and our communities, we mobilize the evidence, tools, and leadership necessary to ensure GBT2Q have access to equitable and culturally competent care.
